2 Boutique Firms Merge Offering

Two Aussie boutiques have merged in a bid to create a unique real estate-centric law firm.

HD Legal has joined Baybridge, effective immediately, in a move that will see one combined firm focused on real estate advisory and legal services.

The merged firm comes as Baybridge seeks to become Australia’s “premier legal powerhouse for real estate”. The new team includes Baybridge managing partner Marwan Kojok and new partners Tanya Delkou and Sarah Heuvel, who co-founded HD Legal in 2020.Mr Kojok said he was thrilled about the merger, noting the synergies between the two firms. “Tanya [and] Sarah, along with their team, bring a wealth of experience, having worked with and for some of the country’s most prominent real estate brands,” Mr Kojok said.“Their expertise and reputation, coupled with the experience and industry strength of the team at Baybridge, will ensure that joining forces enables them to unlock more value for their clients as we combine expertise, knowledge and resources. We are looking forward to what the next chapter will bring.”Ms Delkou said the partnership made sense.“We needed a partner who not only shared our approach towards scale and growth but also leveraged everything that we’ve created so far,” she said.

Ms Heuvel echoed a similar sentiment, noting, “to be able to join a team of excellent professionals only gives us reassurance that our mission of delivering outstanding services to the real estate industry is being fulfilled”.

Mr Kojok primarily advises in corporate and commercial law, holding extensive expertise in all aspects of growth, distribution, and expansion strategies and intellectual property law.

Ms Delkou is an experienced lawyer focused on real estate legal services, including rent roll transactions, the sale and purchase of shares, corporate structuring, and franchising advice to real estate agencies across Australia.

Meanwhile, Ms Heuvel is an experienced lawyer focused on residential tenancy and a real estate compliance expert with over 15 years of experience in property management.

Tanya Delkou, Partner – Real Estate & Corporate, Tanya started her legal career at a law firm specialising in mergers & acquisitions and commercial & corporate law, and shortly after commenced practising law with a focus within the real estate industry. Tanya’s practice is focused on mergers & acquisitions, rent roll transactions, sale and purchase of shares and corporate structuring.
